We generally have better pricing because we minimize our operating cost and pass the savings on to you. One of the ways we accomplish this is by having your order “drop shipped” from DOF Reality directly. This keeps us from needing our own Warehouse and additional staff to pack and ship the units. For all practical purposes, when you buy from SimWithMotion.com, it is the same process as buying directly from DOF Reality directly, we can just save you a few dollars.
Additionally, we offer a monthly Zoom call for new owners who purchase from us. We also give you exclusive access to our “Customer Only” page where you can watch tutorials and previous “New Owner” calls in the archive to help you get the most from your Motion Simulator.
Regardless of who you choose to buy from, just get into motion as quickly as you can. It is an experience you will wonder how you ever went without!
Motion Simulators are Bulky, Heavy, Large items compared to other Entertainment Peripherals. These machines are produced in Europe and are Air Freighted across the ocean so you don’t need to wait months for your unit to cross via sea freight.
It can be shocking to see how much shipping is when you first add your new Motion Simulator to the cart, but when you realize how large the package is, it is more understandable.
We offer discounts on the Motion Simulators themselves but not individual accessories so we require the purchase of a Motion Simulator with every order. If you are only in need of accessories, you can order directly from dofreality.com as the pricing will be the same.
Additionally, we have a few unique options if you are ordering from Colorado. We ask you to contact us directly so we can find the best solution for your simulator purchase.
In general I say NO. The H-Series is more than enough for typical home use and the P-Series is considerably more expensive. Although on paper the P-Series has better specs, in practice you generally won’t “feel” a big difference when using the different motion platforms. Certainly if you are trying to decide between a P3 or an H6, I always recommend the unit with more Axis of movement (the H6 in this case).
The only circumstances where I’d recommend a P-Series is if you plan to use it commercially in an Arcade type of environment where the motion simulator is running 8-hours a day/ 7 days a week. Or if you plan to put more weight on the Motion Simulator than normal (the P-Series generally can handle about 100 extra lbs. of weight over the H-Series) and if money isn’t a primary consideration for your purchase.
DOF Reality has been in business for almost 12 years now, and has sold more motion simulators than all the competition combined. The reason DOF Reality Motion Simulators are so “cheap” is they use more mainstream machinery that is more affordable than many of its competitors.
High-end motion simulators use the same “precision” equipment that is used in CNC manufacturing where everything has to be accurate to less than a millimeter… Realistically you don’t need that kind of precision for a motion simulator.
Personally I have used both, and I would agree that the $100,000 simulators can provide a better experience in certain cases, but it is up to you if it is worth the 10x price tag for a marginally better ride?
This is a great question because some motion simulators require 240-volt single-phase power just to operate. The answer for DOF Reality Motion Simulators is generally NO you don’t need to do any extra electrical work in your home (unless you have very old wiring). DOF Reality Motion Simulators are designed for home use and typically need as much power as a high-end computer system. Most homes with 120 volts can handle a DOF Reality Motion Simulator without any issues.
DOF Reality typically ships orders from the factory every 2 weeks, so depending on if your order is placed a few days before the new shipment goes out, or if you just missed the last batch, it can typically take up to slightly more than 2 weeks for transit. New import and tariff policies can also impact the delivery time as your unit may be stuck in customs. Additionally, there are times when DOF Reality does have a backlog of orders, sometimes pushing orders out as far as 30-days, but that is not common, but can happen. We do notify you as soon as we receive tracking information from DOF Reality so you can track the progress of your shipment yourself.
